The Car
You step past the girl, out of her spotlight, and continue across the square. Briefly you look back over your shoulder to see her still dancing, still lost in her own world…
Suddenly from out of nowhere a car screeches to a halt inches away from you! The timing is so severe, so spectacular, that you don’t even have time to stop – you bounce off of the car door and fall to the ground!
The car hums and idles softly as the window is slowly wound open. From the dark a female voice enquires – “My dude, are you ok?” You climb to your feet and brush yourself down before looking deep into the car… Three nervous sets of eyes peer out, full of wonder.
Beautiful, sparkling eyes shine from the dark, almost floating on their own… you blink, and in an instant the car is FILLED with twinkling stars, an ocean of possibility! Somehow, the eyes and stars have become as one and you’re talking to the very spirits themselves.
“Do you have the time?” a voice asks. You shake your head. Soft giggles come from the car. “No, I mean – do you have the time to come on a drive with us? I’m little Eliza May. We’re gonna change the world.” The words are full of hope, as only the voice of youth can be.
A hand stretches out from the stars, towards you. It is offering you the ride of a lifetime. Little Eliza May.
