The Bunker
You trepidatiously edge towards the corrugated metal bunker ahead of you, leaving the security of the road behind. You choose to follow the winding path, which is dotted with low level blue lights. In front of you, small windows cut into the metal shake and thump with the flashes of electricity within.
You stop quite far from the front door, trying to get your head around whatever the hell is going on. Suddenly, a red warning light bursts to life as a male voice screams ‘Again!’ – the whole building plunges into darkness before you hear a thunderous ‘FOOM’! The entire bunker jumps in the air and smoke bellows out of every crack and crevice!
The voice screams ‘Repeat!’ and the blue lights slam on once more.
You watch the bunker perform its dance countless times, holding fast until your nerves become so attuned to it that you can press forwards.
You reach the bunker, confident you have a window of time to make your decision before the red light blares on once more. On the door itself is a metal sign that reads – ‘The Laboratory of Dr. York’. To the right of the door is an emergency lever behind glass that reads ‘To ring doorbell, break glass & pull lever’. A tiny hammer is attached.
You pick up the tiny hammer to smash the glass, but find yourself pausing for the briefest of seconds…
